BUDDING songwriters have until March 24 to enter the 2013 Young Songwriters Competition.

The competition provides a platform for emerging young talent to show off their lyrics, musicianship and performance skills.

Lismore City Council's youth and community development officer Lizette Twisleton urged young people to enter for a crack at prizes including recording time, sound gear and a professional photo shoot.

There are folk/country, hip hop, rock/indie, punk/metal and pop categories with a Young Songwriter of the Year selected from finalists.

For more info, phone Lizette on 1300 87 83 87, email Lizette or check out the Facebook page.
