Word slammin'

Geraldine Bigelow ( pictured) was a local artist who died earlier this year. Among her many talents was her ability to string words together in a delightful and poignant way.

She was a poet.

In honour of her word work, the Cock & Bull venue at the Lismore Show will host the Bigelow Prize for Poetry this Saturday, October 24, at 11am.

With master poet David Hallett as MC and wordsmiths Christine Strelan and Ray Essery performing, there'll be a poetry slam with a prize of $100 - which is quite a big stimulus package for poets.
