Woodlawn horsing around

Former Democrats Senator Aden Ridgeway will be amongst the frocks and the hats at the Lismore Turf Club on Saturday for the St John’s College Woodlawn Charity Race day.

Mr Ridgeway is coming back to be a part of the 30-year reunion for the class of 1980.

This year is the fifth charity race day with part of the proceeds going to Yodifee House in Cambodia, which is a farm facility run by the Marist Fathers for the benefit of disabled youth in that region.

Apart from the funds raised by hosting the marquee, $3 from each general admission ticket will be donated to the nominated charities. Other money raised on the day will go back to the school P&F (parents and friends) to help the kids at the school.

Liz Kelly from the P&F committee said it was a great day for former students to catch up with old friends and ex-teachers.

Gate entry for the day is $10 adults or $6 pensioners/students.
