Sydney woman shaken but safe after attempted carjacking

A WOMAN has had a lucky escape from a trio of would-be carjackers who were forced to retreat when one was run over.

The 45-year-old driver was stopped at an intersection in Sydney's west on Wednesday when a man threatened her with a knife and two others opened the back doors.

When the woman jumped out and screamed for help, her car rolled over one of the men's legs.

The man's friends went to his aid and the woman was able to make a quick getaway to the nearest police station.

Police are still hunting for the culprits.
