Man arrested over woman's death

A MAN has been arrested at Brisbane Airport over the death of a woman in Sydney overnight.

The 44-year-old's car was seized at Newcastle Airport and he was later arrested by Queensland Police at Brisbane.

He was taken to Brisbane CIB headquarters.

The search for the man began last night when a woman in her 30s died from critical injuries at her Northern Beaches home.

Neighbours phoned police when they heard screaming coming from the Curl Curl unit about 9.30pm.

Police and paramedics forced their way into the home to help the woman but she died at the scene.

Investigations are continuing.

 

Woman killed at Northern beaches home

POLICE in Sydney are guarding a Northern Beaches home where a woman was killed late last night.

Neighbours phoned police when they heard screaming coming from the Curl Curl unit about 9.30pm.

Police and paramedics forced their way into the home to find a woman in her 30s suffering from critical injuries. She died at the scene.

The Homicide Squad has taken over the investigation and detectives are searching the area for a man they believe may be able to help.

The victim is yet to be formally identified.
