Magistrate astounded woman given bail, then does the same

A FRASER Coast mum has been granted bail after facing court on drugs charges.

Lynette Gaye Hall appeared in Hervey Bay Magistrates Court on Thursday, charged with supplying and possessing dangerous drugs.

Magistrate Graeme Tatnell was shocked Ms Hall was granted bail after charging her, based on a history of similar offences.

"I'm astounded she was given bail," he said.

He allowed police prosecutor Senior Constable Jeanette Grigoris to apply to have the bail revoked.

Sen Const Grigoris did so, saying Ms Hall's criminal history meant there was a high risk of her re-offending.

In spite of this, Mr Tatnell then allowed Ms Hall to remain free on bail, as she had shown up to court on Thursday as she was required to do.

A committal for her supply charge was set for February 21.
