Wild at art

JAY Manby is one of Lismore's artistic treasures, a sought-after painter and celebrated designer whose art works for bands such as the Cruel Sea are legit 90s pop-art icons.

He's presenting an exhibition of his latest works, Unwild at the Lismore Art in the Heart Pop Up gallery at 56 Magellan St this week.

According to Jay's artspeak, Unwild highlights the plight of the wild and its co-existence with urbanisation and consumer society.

But we prefer his Facebook stories of co-existing with crazed brown-snakes and other cuddly critters out at untamed Eltham.

The official opening by Mayor Jenny Dowell is at 6.30 pm tonight (Thursday, November 8) and live music is by Lismore's Americana specialists Black Train. Unwild runs till November 15.
