Water week photo comp

A photography competition to celebrate National Water Week 2009 has been launched by Lismore City Council and photographers are being urged to use their cameras to depict the importance water plays in our lives.

The theme of the competition is Securing Our Water Future and Council's Waste and Water Education Officer Kevin Trustum said entries could show water landscapes, water in your life and water for your livelihood.

There are four categories in the competition; Junior primary (K-3), Primary (Years 4-6), High school (Years 7-12) and Open (any age group).

There is a $100 prize for the winner in each category and $50 for the runners up.

Photos must be taken within the Lismore local government area and entries close on Friday October 16. Entry forms are available from Council offices or from the Council website, www.lismore.nsw
