Watch your tone

Patrycia Buckland's exhibition at Caddies in Lismore was the result of her staying in the studio mixing colours rather than roaming the countryside drawing landscapes. Colour and Tone is a series of small intimate paintings - they're experiments with colour.

“I'm interested in the connection between colour and music; the parallels between musical composition and that of colour and tone in art,” Patrycia said. “I've aimed at creating a compositional rhythm by using the play between light and dark tonal relationships, and complementary contrasts.”

Colour and Tone runs till November 30.
