Walk the walk

A downhill walk from the Summit Gym in Goonellabah to Oakes Oval in Lismore will raise funds for Lifeline Northern Rivers on Saturday, June 12. Families and individuals are encouraged to Walk the Walk for Lifeline and register for the eight kilometre walk. You can take as long as you like and you’ll be helping to support Lifeline’s lifesaving work here in the Northern Rivers. Family entertainment will be provided at Oakes Oval and when the event is over there will be free transport from the finish back to the start to pick up your car. The entry fee is $20 for a family or $10 for an individual or $250 for a corporate team. Many of the walkers, including local politicians Janelle Saffin and Jenny Dowell will be raising money through online sponsorship. To donate or to register as a sponsored participant go to the website www. everydayhero.com.au /event/walkthewalk/. The walk begins at 9am with registrations from 8am at the Summit Gym, or you can register beforehand by emailing walkthewalk@lis.net.au
