Walk the walk for helicopter rescue service

WESTPAC Life Saver Rescue Helicopter launched the 2013 Ballina to Byron Bay Charity Walk at a ceremony on the headland at Boulder Beach last weekend.

The 37km coastal walk will be held on Sunday May 19 starting at 7am from Missingham Park, Ballina. Participants can choose to walk 12km to Lennox Head, 25km to Broken Head or the full 37km to Byron Bay.

General Manager at the helicopter service, Kris Beavis said following the overwhelming response in 2012, organisers have increased registrations to 1000 for this year's event.

Registrations are now open online at www.ballinatobyronbaywalk .com.au
