Von Furstenberg's classic staple gets glam rock treatment

THE mother of real women's high fashion, Belgium/American designer Diane von Furstenberg, presented her autumn/winter 2013 collection at New York Fashion Week on Sunday and her iconic wrap dress was a central well-cut figure among the trends for the upcoming season.

Von Furstenberg is famous for the forgiving lines of her most famous fashion contribution in the wrap dress although her 'glam rock' theme with this collection did bring out a funkier, cheekier side to her signature prints and feminine silhouettes.

Texture was added through the use of leather, fur, suede, silk and satin while patterns and prints saw colour blocking inclusions juxtaposed with abstract florals, black and white geometrics and classic animal prints bringing some playfulness to the confident glamorous woman her seemingly effortless designs exude.

Even if they are out of your price range, at least they look like you can wear them.
