VIDEO: Watch as a spider crawls out from a man's ear

IF you're afraid of spiders you may not want to watch this video.

Horrifying footage has gone viral of a spider emerging from a man's ear.

The video starts with a person pouring some kind of liquid into a person's inner ear.

What happens next is disgusting yet you can't look away.

A small spider makes its way out, seemingly spooked by the liquid.

It's true that spiders do make their way into ears and in the case of one Chinese woman a spider crawled inside her ear canal and lived there for five days before doctors extracted it.

Other animals documented to have been found in ears include moths, fruit fly larvae, maggots, crickets, cockroaches and bed bugs.

It's enough to make your skin crawl.

In this case it may have been a hoax with Bruce Branit claiming to have fooled the internet with a similar video.

Mr Banit, from northwestern Missouri, created the video (below).

He filmed himself on his mobile phone making the skin crawling discovery, the Daily Mail reports.

'Swam at Lake of the Ozarks last weekend and got a super painful ear infection, tried to use my phone camera to see if I could see anything... Found this!' Mr Branit wrote on Youtube on Friday.

Mr Banit later said it was a ploy to get everyone talking about his computer graphics company.

Well played.
