LONG-serving volunteer and Friend of the Lismore Regional Gallery Vicki Fayle has been recognised for her time and effort by having one of the gallery's rooms named after her.
Vicki has been involved with the gallery since 1992, and in that time has catalogued all of the works in their permanent collection (about 700), helped secure funding to build the cafe and been "an incredible presence in the social side of the gallery", according to curator Kezia Geddes.
Vicki was diagnosed with a brain tumour last year, and to acknowledge her work at the gallery, there was a small ceremony for family and friends last Friday.
Director Brett Adlington said they would be "forever grateful" for her work.
And he promised that "when the gallery does relocate", her name would be dedicated to a new room in the new space.
Vicki's husband Rod said the gallery had been "a special thing that had given her great joy in her life and continues to give her great pleasure".
