Veterans of jazz

This Sunday, April 25, is Anzac Day and it’s also a special day at the Lismore Workers Club for people who love jazz.

Pianist and vocalist Ken Bennett (who also plays accordion, trombone and tuba) will join jazz trumpeter Colin Jones, trombonist Michael Keogh, drummer Jeff McGuiness, bassist Bruce Worrall, and reeds-man Peter McHutchinson.

Ken, who now lives on the Gold Coast, began his jazz playing at 14 and has played all over the world, appeared on television and written scores for commercials.

The trad-jazz show starts at 1.30pm, and these jazz veterans are sure to have the place swinging.

And it’s free!
