Unnamed body in boat fire

Brett Wortman

POLICE are still working to identify a man whose body was found inside a burn-out boat sitting in dry dock at Caboolture yesterday.

But they say it appears the fire that destroyed the vessel at Monty's Marina, on Beachmere Rd, was not suspicious.

The body of the man, aged in his 50s, was discovered in the early hours of the morning after emergency crews extinguished the blaze.

The fire had been reported shortly after midnight.

A police spokesman last night said the boat was under construction and the man may have been living in it while he carried out the work.

"There has been no formal identification at this stage, so his next of kin have not been notified," he said.

"What we can say is that he is believed to be a man in his 50s who may have been living aboard the vessel."

Laying down and de-constructing the mandala structure symbolises the impermanence of the menstrual cycle and an end to female inequality in the world.
