UK girl 'stabbed to death with comb'

A ROW between two teenage girls ended in death when one plunged a steel Afro comb into the head of the other, British jurors have heard.

Julie Sheriff, 16, lay in a coma for four months before dying without regaining consciousness, the Central Criminal Court or Old Bailey was told on Monday.

She was stabbed in the left temple in broad daylight after she and the 15-year-old had a row about malicious gossip involving boys, said prosecutor Jonathan Turner.

The girl, who is now 16 but cannot be identified for legal reasons, denies murdering Julie, who died on September 21 last year.

Julie suffered a brain injury after being attacked in Battersea, south London, on May 7 last year.
