TWO truck drivers have died after a fiery head-on collision in Victoria and a third is in hospital in a critical condition.
Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding the collision that claimed the two lives at Black Range, near Stawell.
Investigators believe a B-Double truck travelling west bound on the Western Hwy and a semi trailer travelling east bound collided head on around 11.30pm last night.
A third semi trailer has then collided into the rear of the semi travelling east, leaving the male driver with life threatening injuries.
The trucks burned for eight hours before being extinguished, police are now investigating why the fire burned so long.
Police last night said they located two bodies at the scene, which were yet to be identified.
The Western Hwy will remain closed for most of the day as the investigation continues.
It is believed one of the trucks was transporting cars and the other household items.
Police will prepare a report for the Coroner.
