
Two in Tweed Hospital following bus accident
A MAN and woman were taken to Tweed Hospital late Saturday night after a shuttle bus hit a man on the Ewingsdale Rd, Byron Bay.
The Toyota Coaster minibus swerved left to avoid hitting a pedestrian at 11.30pm.
The 49-year-old male was clipped by the vehicle's bull bar.
His hip sockets were shattered and several ribs were broken.
He remains in intensive care in a stable condition.
The injured woman was one of four female passengers on the minibus.
Traffic was slowed down for an hour after the incident.
