Two charged with attempted murder over Lismore house fire
A SECOND Glen Innes man has been charged with attempted murder over a house fire at East Lismore last October and a related home invasion at Richmond Hill.
The arrest of Brandon Green, 21, came the day after Peter Graham, 26, was arrested for his alleged involvement in both incidents.
Richmond Local Area Command duty officer Inspector Matt Kehoe said officers attached to Strike Force Lynhale conducted a search warrant at an address in Manns Ln, Glen Innes, on January 31.
"A 21-year-old male from Glen Innes was arrested in relation to the attempted murder and home invasions," he said.
Insp Kehoe said Green was charged with attempted murder and damaging property with intent to endanger life in relation to the home invasion and fire at a house in Spring St, East Lismore, on October 6.
Police allege Green and Graham were accompanied by another man during the home invasion in which a 74-year-old man was allegedly assaulted, tied up and robbed, before his home was set alight.
Insp Kehoe said Green was also charged with aggravated break and enter and committing a serious indictable offence in relation to the home invasion and assault at Richmond Hill Rd, Richmond Hill, on November 16.
Police allege Green, Graham and another man forced entry to the home and assaulted a 55-year-old woman, a 49-year-old man and the same 74-year-old man.
Green appeared in Armidale Local Court on February 1 and was refused bail to appear at Lismore Local Court in April.
Graham appeared in Armidale Local Court on January 31 and was refused bail to reappear in Armidale Local Court in April.
Police are still looking for another man who they allege was involved in the incidents.
