Tursa to sponsor Anzac Cup

Football Far North Coast has confirmed that Tursa Employment and Training will be the major sponsor of the Anzac Cup competition.

This event has been conducted since 1950 and will commence on March 5, culminating with the final on Anzac Day.

All Premier Division men’s teams will contest this round robin event over three rounds, semi finals and a final.

Steve Mackney from Football Far North Coast said newcomers to Premier Division in 2010, Pottsville Beach, are keen to confirm their expected competitiveness after earning a re-entry to the top grade.

He said Richmond Rovers, who have won the past two Anzac Cup finals, will try to reclaim their title without six of their stars from last season and clubs such as Lismore Workers and Italo Stars, who have each won the title 15 times, will be battling hard to regain the crown.

“Tursa Employment and Training recognises that football is a powerful sport to be aligned with and our five-year association with this event is also consistent with our respect for the values that Anzac Day promotes,” Tursa marketing manager Glenn Costello said. “Football reaches a wide cross section of our community and is an activity that is consistent with the objectives of our organisation.”
