Truck driver loses life in crash on Hume Highway

POLICE are currently investigating a fatal crash that took place South of Sydney this afternoon.  

About 2.10pm Tuesday afternoon, emergency services were called to the Hume Highway at Marulan, NSW, following reports of a crash.  

Initial investigations suggest a truck and a sedan travelling north on the Highway collided.  

Following the collision the truck left the roadway and crashed into a tree.   As a result of the crash, the driver of the truck died at the scene.  

The passenger of the truck and driver and passenger of the sedan are being treated at the scene for serious injuries and will be airlifted to hospital.  

Other media outlets report the driver of the truck was in a pantech hire truck moving house for a Melbourne woman. 

A crime scene has been established and investigations are continuing. A brief will be prepared for the information of the Coroner.
