This week sees a momentous occasion in the art world - a joint exhibition from members across three galleries.

Titled Home Sweet Home, it's been put together by members of the Blue Knob Gallery, the Roxy Gallery in Kyogle and Lismore's Serpentine Community Gallery.

Twelve months of planning has borne fruit with a show that will strengthen the bonds between local galleries and the local arts community.

Exploring concepts of home, whether it be for humans or animals, is the theme.

Opening night is this Friday, August 3 at 6pm at the Serpentine Gallery. Then the exhibition will travel out to Blue Knob Gallery, opening there on Friday, August 31.

These opening celebrations are family friendly events with all welcome.

Rosanna has designs on female taboo

Artist Rosanna Pimm uses 3500 porcelain tampons to created her large scale performance installation Riots of Passage in The Quad as part of The Lismore Women's Festival on International Women's Day. Laying down and de-constructing the mandala structure symbolises the impermanence of the menstrual cycle and an end to female inequality in the world.
