TOWNSVILLE'S faint finals hopes disappeared yesterday as all-star Ben Magden inspired the Kings to a dominant 83-67 victory in Sydney.
Magden had five assists, three steals and two blocks to go with a game-high 33 points, the win sending the Kings back into the top four.
While the numbers underlined Magden's contribution, fellow big man Ian Crosswhite was just as influential, keeping key Crocs tall Luke Nevill to just five points before he was fouled out in the third term.
Peter Crawford's 22 points was the only highlight in an otherwise miserable afternoon for Townsville.
The victory moved Sydney into fourth place, just behind third-placed Wollongong on percentage.
Melbourne dropped to fifth after losing to the Hawks on Saturday night, but has two games in hand over the Kings.
