Tower of laughs

Bad service is an annoying part of life. It’s hard to avoid. But if you think service is dodgy on the North Coast, that ain’t nothin’ compared to the service you get from Basil when you visit his hotel, Fawlty Towers.

John Cleese and Connie Booth wrote only 12 episodes of Fawlty Towers which became (and still is) a television classic.

Lismore Theatre Company has taken two of those episodes and transported them from the virtual television world to the live, real world of theatre. So now you can enjoy the antics of Basil, Sybil, Manuel, Polly and the Major at the Rochdale Theatre in Goonellabah this Friday (8pm), Saturday (8pm) and Sunday (5pm), March 19-21, and next Thursday, Friday and Saturday, March 25-27.

Tickets are $20/15 and available from Kay’s Second-hand Sheet Music and Uncle Peter’s Books, both in Lismore. Or at the door. For more info phone 6621 8030.
