Top Australian DJ dies on his birthday

THE Australian music industry is mourning the loss of one of the country's top DJs Adrian Thomas, who died suddenly on his 42nd birthday, early this morning.

Known as "DJ Ajax", Thomas was struck by a truck in Melbourne at about 1am.

The Sydney-based entertainer was voted one of Australia's top 5 DJs for the past five years and was widely credited for transforming the nation's dance music scene.

His music label Modular Records produced countless dance floor anthems, including the Yolanda Be Cool and Dcup hit, We No Speak Americano.
