TRAVIS Passier's Olympics are over after his Australian men's volleyball team missed out on a quarter-final spot in London.

Passier and his Volleyroos went out in style though as they caused a big upset by beating world No.3 Poland in their final pool match last night (AEST).

The win moved Australia into fourth in their pool, a position that would have seen them make the final eight, but Argentina beat host nation Great Britain to snatch the final spot in the quarters from the Volleyroos.

Passier and his team secured two wins from five pool matches but fell just one point short of fourth spot.

Italy finished fourth in the pool, so the Volleyroos 3-2 loss to the Italians after leading 2-0 proved costly.

It was the first Olympics for Toowoomba talent Passier and he finished with the honour of serving out match point in the victory against Poland.
