Bernard Tomic admits fault over hotel incident

BERNARD Tomic can expect a court summons within three weeks after being arrested in the US on charges of resisting arrest and trespassing.

Security guards were reportedly sent to the Australian tennis player's Miami hotel penthouse three times after complaints from neighbours about loud music.

When police were eventually called to evict him, the 22-year-old allegedly refused to leave and was arrested.

Tomic told media in Miami he regretted the incident.

"It was definitely my fault from what happened," he said.

"I was asleep on several occasions when they complained at first but it was just a noise complaint.

"Like I said, I'm sorry for the police and the disturbance I caused."

Police said Tomic had been intoxicated.

The Miami-Dade Corrections and Rehabilitation Department said he was locked up from 9.57am (local time) to 5.40pm.

His bond was set at $2700.
