Obamas' dog in Christmas wrangle with toddler

IT was all fun and Christmas merriment when US First Lady Michelle Obama met military personnel and their children at The White House - at first.

Then, in a potential PR nightmare, things started to go wrong as a toddler fell to the ground when confronted by the US First Dog, Sunny.

Some at first suggested Sunny intimated two-year-old Ashtyn Gardner but it was later reported the toddler simply slipped when she met the dog.

Either way, photographers caught the moment as Mrs Obama rushed to help the little one.

Sunny soon gave Ashtyn a friendly lick and the two made up and in the spirit of a classic US Christmas tale, everything ended in flowers and good cheer.
