Toddler survives after grandmother drowns in pool

A TODDLER remains in hospital after being pulled from a backyard pool where her grandmother was found dead on Tuesday evening.

The one-year-old girl was strapped to her 63-year-old grandmother in a baby harness when the pair fell into a pool at Dapto, near Wollongong.

The girl's brother raised the alarm when he found them unconscious in the pool.

Paramedics were able to revive the girl but her grandmother died at the scene.
