To market to market on new shuttle bus
Forget scrambling for a car park or crawling through traffic - you can now get a shuttle bus to The Channon Craft Market and simply sit back and enjoy the ride.
The Channon Craft Market and Quinn's Bus Service have established a partnership to introduce the shuttle bus service from Lismore to The Channon Craft Markets, initially for a six-month trial.
Beginning this Sunday, September 13, and operating every market Sunday (second Sunday of the month), the shuttle bus will give people without access to a car, tourists and those who just want a break from driving an alternative way to get to and from this colourful and popular monthly event.
"We want to provide a service for the public who don't have transport or prefer to car pool - it's going to be particularly handy for university students and families without transport," manager of The Channon Craft Market Robyn Kelly said. "This isn't about making a profit. Transport services are so limited already, and we think it's really important to provide transport options in a regional area, plus it also means people can choose to leave their car at home and reduce their carbon footprint if they wish."
The monthly market features more than 250 stalls with local arts, crafts, bric-a-brac, fresh produce, delicious foods, beverages and therapeutic goods and services.
The shuttle bus will depart from Lismore at 9am and return at approximately 2pm. It costs $6 one-way or $10 return.
Bookings are essential. Phone Quinn's Bus Service on 0427 282 138 or for timetable information, phone the Lismore Visitor Information Centre on 1300 369 795. Keep in mind the market is animal and alcohol free.
