HALLOWEEN conjures imagery of supernatural themes for most of us, but for this central Queensland couple, it marked the beginning of a supernatural love.

The "Hallowedding" of Graham Cowley and Sonia Pattenden was held on November 2 in the company of 70 family and friends.

First meeting in primary school, the pair and their combined five children share an eclectic love of all things spooky.

"We celebrate Halloween as a family every year, carving pumpkins and organising decorations," said the new Mrs Cowley.

"I changed dresses midway through the day into a Halloween costume and most of our guests arrived in costume too."

It was important for the loved-up couple, who met in primary school, to express their personalities in their special day.

"Both my eldest son and my father walked me down the aisle," said Mrs Cowley.

"It was all round such a brilliant day, everyone really got into the Halloween spirit and it was a lot of fun.

"Even the oldies got into the day and had an absolute ball."

Although Mr and Mrs Cowley met all those years ago in primary school, a romantic relationship was kindled only four years ago, with a proposal following six months later.

The wedding ceremony was held on the afternoon of November 2 at the parents of the bride, followed by a reception at Gracemere RSL.

The couple, who has lived in central Queensland all their lives, has ensured Halloween will be a double celebration every year from here on in.
