Thrilling grooves at bowlo

The Lismore City Bowlo is a popular venue in Lismore. Plenty of room and cold beers. Yeah!

It's also where local promoter Jules Kelly showcases the musical might of the lecturers and students, past and present, of the Contemporary Music Department at SCU in some of the coolest gigs around.

To kick off the grooves for the year Jules presents Jim Kelly's Thrillseekers next Tuesday, February 28. The band's sound has been augmented by the addition of Shannon Marshall on trumpet and flugelhorn.

A new original repertoire is going to be aired with emphasis on the groove and soulful playing by Jim on the electric six-stringer, along with Shannon, Greg Lyon on b0ass, Scott Hills on the kit and James Cox on percussion. The gig starts at 8.30pm and it costs $12/8 to get in the door.
