Three arrested over drugs, weapons

THREE Italian men with alleged links to a Mafia-style organised crime network have been arrested in NSW.

Early this morning, detectives attached to Strike Force Wonoona allegedly found five rifles and shotguns in a western Sydney home.

A 40-year-old man was taken to the Fairfield Police Station where he is being questioned.

An hour later, two brothers, aged 23 and 21, were arrested in Newtown.

Police allege all three are connected to an international organised crime syndicate responsible for the commercial supply of prohibited drugs.

Charges are expected to be laid this afternoon.

The raids were linked to the arrest of four men in November last year.
