Third man charged over Lismore murder attempt
POLICE have arrested and charged a third man with attempted murder in relation to a house fire at East Lismore and a home invasion at Richmond Hill.
Richmond Local Area Command duty officer Inspector Matt Kehoe said David John Reynolds, 48, of Lismore was arrested and charged by officers attached to Strike Force Lynhale on Monday.
"He has been charged with attempted murder, damage property with intent to endanger life, aggravated break enter and steal at Richmond Hill, and also a break enter and steal at an address at Bulmers Rd at Hogarth Range," he said.
The charges related to a home invasion and house fire in Spring St at East Lismore on October 6, 2013 and a home invasion at an address on Richmond Hill Rd on November 17 last year.
Police allege a 74-year-old man, who was known to Reynolds, was assaulted in both incidents.
Insp Kehoe said Reynolds appeared in Lismore Local Court on Monday and was refused bail.
Reynolds reappeared at Lismore Local Court on Tuesday where he was refused bail to reappear in April.
