Thieves steal $600k worth of cigarettes

IF THEY were fed up with the soaring price of cigarettes, stealing $600,000 worth may not have been the best solution.

A group of western Sydney-siders have been captured on CCTV footage entering a freight holidaying yard at Fairfield, backing their truck up to cigarette pallets, loading three and driving away.

Police belief the brazen theft took place just after midnight Sunday.

The footage is being reviewed and investigations are continuing.
