There's gold at the Summit

GOONELLABAH'S Summit Sport and Fitness Centre has gone for gold - and won. The local gym has just received a gold award at the recent Australian Health and Fitness Industry Quality Awards, making them one of only 13 fitness centres nationally to receive an award. Co-managers Matt George and Annie Petty went to Adelaide recently to collect the award which recognises that the fitness business is achieving at a high standard and shows high levels of improvement culture and outcomes.

"Fitness Australia sent an independent quality assessor to conduct an on-site audit of policies, procedures, marketing, as well as interview members and staff," Matt said. "The whole process has been quite rewarding. It has made us closely look at our internal procedures and the staff thoroughly deserve the award; it is great for them to be recognised alongside the best clubs in Australia. It is not about being the biggest or flashiest; it's about delivering a brilliant customer experience and creating an atmosphere that people love."
