The enchanted windows

As well as creating magical rivers of light that weave through the streets of Lismore, this year the Lismore Lantern Parade in partnership with The Echo is calling for more shop owners to create enchanting window displays throughout the month of June.

The lantern-lit ‘Enchanted Windows’ have been a hit with window shoppers and businesses in previous years and prizes will be given to the best-dressed magical windows. You can decorate your window with Lismore Lanterns or illuminated decorations of your own choice. Last year’s winner was the Book Warehouse on Keen Street.

Lantern Parade artistic director Jyllie Jackson encourages as many businesses as possible to fill out an application form to take part in the community project, which has now been lighting up the heart of the city for 17 years.

“It would be wonderful to maximise the lantern theme within the city centre and help create Lismore as the ‘City of Lanterns’,” Jyllie said.
