The dark pleasures of Thorne

Lucie Thorne’s latest album Black Across the Field combines Lucie’s spacious gritty rock ‘n roll with her distinctively dark folk style.

Since the album’s release in March last year, Lucie has toured extensively around Australia, playing shows in every state and territory, and she has just returned home from a two-month European tour which included shows in France, Holland, Germany, Czech Republic, Turkey, Romania and the UK.

Busy girl, our Lucie.

That album got Lucie shortlisted for the Australian Music Prize.

And the album really did get some rave reviews (as opposed to those written by the artists themselves).

“This gentle chanteuse has delivered quiet perfection. There is such an intensity of feeling here... moody folk, country noir... a collection of stories that speaks small but resonates much bigger. One of the finer albums of the year so far... Thorne marks out her space with some fabulous sensuality.” – Bernard Zuel, Sydney Morning Herald.

Now you have a chance to see where Lucie’s talents really shine – live on stage. Lucie Thorne will play the Mullum Bowling Club this Saturday, April 10, from 8pm.

Tickets are $16 pre-sale (www.mullummusic.com) or $20 at the door.
