Teacher wins $20k and spends it on 200 pairs of shoes

WHAT would you do if you won $20,000?

An Australian school teacher won $20,000 on the television show Millionaire Hot Seat last Thursday night but instead of buying a car or putting a deposit on a house, she invested in something much more valuable: children.

Bri Dredge is a 32-year-old teacher at Yuille Park Community College in Ballarat and she has decided to spend her new found riches on buying new shoes for 200 students at her school.

"I walked into school and every student in the whole school has given me a hug and said thank you," Ms Dredge told AAP on Friday.

"The look on their faces was worth all the money that I won."

While Ms Dredge admits to being 'scared' she says she hopes she has inspired her pupils to challenge themselves.
