TAYLOR Swift thinks Prince William is "so cool."

The 'Sweeter Than Fiction' hitmaker performed at the annual Winter Whites Gala at Kensington Palace in London on Tuesday night (26.11.13), in aid of youth homelessness charity Centrepoint, and admitted she felt very lucky to get to meet the young royal.

She said: "He was very funny. I was really happy he was funny."

According to the MailOnline website, the 23-year-old star also told reporters: "It's positively magical here. There are fairy lights and there is fake snow falling from the sky and everything is just gorgeous. I am just very lucky to be here."

The US superstar was one of several acts, along with Jon Bon Jovi, James Blunt, Tinie Tempah and Eliza Doolittle, to perform in front of 600 guests at the black-tie event and said it felt "very special."

Upon arriving at the gala, she added: "I'm absolutely excited. I don't think I've ever played at a palace before so it is really wonderful. It's really wondrous, I think they've done an amazing job of putting this together."

Prince William, 33, attended the event solo as Duchess Catherine opted to stay at home to mind their four-month-old son, Prince George.

He wowed guests by jumping on stage with Taylor and Jon Bon Jovi to perform an acoustic version of the band's hit 'Livin' On a Prayer.'
