Tax return assistance — for free

The Lismore Neighbourhood Centre is offering help with tax returns free of charge, to low income earners with a health care card.

The offer is good till the end of October.

Neighbourhood Centre CEO, Jenni Beetson-Mortimer, said they'd offered this program for the past 15 years, with the support of the Australian Taxation Office.

Jenni said that, thanks to the generosity of trained tax help volunteers, the program had assisted over 70,000 clients. Demand for the service being very high, she suggested that interested people book early.

To make an appointment for assistance in preparing your tax return, phone the Neighbourhood Centre between 9.30am and 3.30pm, Monday to Friday, on 6621 7397. For further information about this and other Neighbourhood Centre programs, please visit
