Tatts closes; Red Belly goes bowling

As if it hadn’t taken enough of a beating already, the live music scene in Lismore copped another kick in the guts last week with the closure of The Tatts.

It’s in the hands of new managers and we will have to see what they do with it when they re-open the doors. In the meantime all gigs that were booked there have been cancelled.

Local band Red Belly Black had just started putting up posters for a CD launch gig they’d booked at The Tatts for Saturday, March 27, but had to go and pull them all down again.

The gig has now been moved to the Lismore City Bowling Club (a great venue) on March 27 and will also feature the psychedelic folk of Snug (with members of Invisible Friend) and the bluesy soul of singer/songwriter Damien O’Dwyer from 8pm.

Red Belly Black will also be playing at Whian Whian Hall on Friday, March 19, from 8pm, and The Rails in Byron Bay on Saturday, March 20, from 6.30pm.
