A BUDERIM beauty with grand dreams will take another step to taking on the galaxy on Thursday.
Tasha Dunlop, 23, is off to Brisbane for the Queensland preliminaries in the Miss Galaxy Australia beauty pageant and the chance of a spot in the final in Sydney.
Ms Dunlop competed in the inaugural Australian version last year and made it to the final.
"It's a great pageant similar to Miss Universe but anyone can enter Miss Galaxy," she said.
"It doesn't matter what body shape or if they've got tattoos, there's no discrimination."
Ms Dunlop had been modelling for six years before entering beauty pageants last year.
Besides Miss Galaxy, she also made the preliminaries of Miss Universe and the state final of Miss World.
"All these events are pretty different. It's a lot of fun and a lot of hard work," she said
As part of her Miss Galaxy entry, Ms Dunlop is raising money for Make-A-Wish Australia.
She has already held a clothes sale and has been raffling health and beauty packs.
She also raised $500 at the Wharf Tavern in one night last week.
The top four women from the Queensland preliminary will go to Sydney for the final on March 24.
