Sydney man blows more than four times limit at Ballina

A TOTAL of 569 drivers on NSW roads were charged with drink-driving since the start of Operation Safe Arrival, from December 20 to January 1.

On the Northern Rivers, a 48-year-old man from Mullumbimby was charged with drink-driving after he failed to give way at an intersection and his vehicle collided with another.

The man failed a breath test which revealed a BAC of 0.153 - almost three times the legal limit.

In Ballina, a 30-year-old Sydney man was almost four times the legal limit after being pulled over for a random breath test on River Street, and will appear in the Ballina court in January.
