HOMICIDE detectives in Sydney's troubled western suburbs are dealing with their second execution style shooting in three days.
In what could read like the script of an Underbelly series, police reports from the west this week have included five armed robberies, a string of high-level drug raids an investigation into a murder cover-up and the arrest of a bikie who was allegedly threatening witnesses in an upcoming gangland court case.
Most recently, a man was gunned down in his driveway at Pendle Hill.Witnesses told police up to eight shots were fired before the gunman fled.
The victim was taken to Westmead Hospital where he later died.Police do not believe the shooting is linked to the double shooting involving members of the notorious Brothers 4 Life gang earlier this week but have confirmed both attacks were targeted and both gunmen remain on the run.
The body of Mahmoud Hamzy, the cousin of jailed Brother's 4 Life founder Bassam Hamzy, was discovered in a Revesby garage on Tuesday night.
His friend, Omar Ajaj was shot in the leg and stomach and remained in hospital on Thursday.
Strike forces have been set up to investigate both shootings.
