Sword-wielding bandit among two Qld armed hold-ups

UPDATE: Police have released a CCTV image of a man police would like to speak with in relation to an armed robbery at a tavern on Redbank Plains Road, Redbank Plains last night.

Around 6.20pm a man entered the business armed with a knife and made demands for cash. Staff complied with his demand and the man fled on foot.

No one was injured during the incident.

The man is described as Caucasian, approximately 180cm tall and of a proportionate build

Investigations are continuing.

EARLIER: Three men, one armed with a sword, robbed a convenience store at Sunnybank Hills in what was one of two armed robberies in Queensland in 24 hours.

Just after 2am three men entered the Compton Road business and made demands for cash.

Police Staff complied with demands and the men fled on foot with a sum of money.

No one was injured during the incident.

The men were last seen heading north on Gowan Road wearing hooded jumpers and masks.

Police are also investigating an armed robbery at a tavern on Redbank Plains Road, Redbank Plains on Sunday night.
