Swedes turnip in Lismore

Adelaide-based alt country soul band Huckleberry Swedes (pictured) will play the Tatts Hotel in Lismore next Wednesday, January 27. They’re touring to promote the second single from their album, Suburban Dreaming.

Somewhere By Sundown is the single and it’s a dark, brooding road tale which explores the idea that the hardest part of a journey is starting it. Having already taken in Canberra, Newcastle, Sydney and the Tamworth Country Music Festival, Huckleberry Swedes know all about starting journeys and will bring their powerful live show to the Tatts with all the energy and fine rock/pop songs for which this band is famous.

Radio National’s Lucky Oceans (The Daily Planet) wrote about Suburban Dreaming – “Not since Cold Chisel has a group come roaring out of South Australia with such a powerful, originally-written crop of roots rock.”

Hmmm. High praise. Doors open 7.30pm. $10 gets you in.
