POLICE have arrested and charged three men with various offences following investigations into a series of armed robberies on the Mid North Coast this year.
Strike Force Mehi is comprised of detectives from the Robbery and Serious Crime Squad and the Mid North Coast and Coffs/Clarence local area commands.
During the course of their investigations into numerous armed robberies, detectives also uncovered information relating to a number of break and enters, drug offences and firearms offences.
As a result of those inquiries, police arrested three men at Newry Street, Nambucca Heads, about 3.30pm on Tuesday, August 21 and took them to Macksville Police Station.
A 29-year-old man was charged with three counts of supply prohibited drug; supply shortened firearm; supply ammunition; conspiracy to commit break and enter; break and enter with intent; two counts of break, enter and steal and fail to stop (police pursuit).
An 18-year-old man was charged with conspiracy to commit break, enter and steal; and two counts of break, enter and steal.
A 28-year-old man was charged with assault occasioning actual bodily harm.
Investigations by Strike Force Mehi into numerous robberies are continuing, including a robbery at a club in Urunga on June 17. During that incident, one man was assaulted and required hospital treatment for his injuries.
