Stories from The Red Heart

Panorama 4, Ormiston Pound by Margaret E Brown

Margaret E Brown has led a full life, embracing many skills and opportunities in her extensive travels.

Always a dedicated sketcher, in the 1980s she turned her hand to painting and swiftly became adept at capturing the subtleties of light and form. Travels to the centre of Australia have captured dramatic images of the ancient rocky gorges and crags and salient trees in their forlorn majesty.

A traditional painter, she presents an exhibition on canvas: The Red Heart at the Lismore Regional Gallery from February 9 till April 7.

The Hon John Robert Arthur Dowd AO QC, Chancellor and Chair of Council, Southern Cross University, opens the exhibition on Friday, February 8, at 6pm.
